How do I open an account & what information do I need?
You can open an account in just 5 minutes by visiting our website and downloading the app here. All you need to get started is your email address, password and business/company name - it's that easy.
Is Staff Leave really free?
Yes, Staff Leave is completely free to use, with no staff limits. Any paid plans in future will come in the form of add-ons and access to a desktop version, with special features for administrators. The app as you see it now with its current feature set will stay free forever.
Do I need a credit or debit card to open and account?
No, you can sign up for a free account and there is no obligation to enter your card details. We also currently don't offer a paid plan as yet and will always continue to offer a free plan. Once we do introduce a paid plan, the free version you use now will always stay free.
Is there a limit to how many users I can have?
We have no limits to the number of users you can have, but we recommend you keep each team size to 100 unless you can organise staff into specific departments. If you have a number of regional offices, we advise having one team account per office.
Can I integrate Staff Leave with 3rd party software
Yes, eventually Staff Leave will offer full access to a very powerful API for future paid accounts, allowing you to integrate with other software providers, such as payroll and accounting platforms. As Staff Leave grows, we will eventually open up an App Store with pre-built integrations & plugins, allowing you to quickly link your account to other providers.
What about GDPR & Privacy?
Staff Leave is fully GDPR-compliant, and you can find out more about our privacy policy here. If you require a GDPR processing agreement, this can only be done for custom account users.
Do you offer support?
Yes, we offer a wealth of support - the easiest way to get help is to contact us via our online form. A message will come straight through to our helpdesk where a member of the team will be in touch. You can also contact us via either our iOS or Android app.
How do I get my staff using Staff Leave?
You can invite staff members to join your team by adding them via the People section of the Staff Leave app. Once invited, an email will be sent asking your colleague to download the Staff Leave app and request to join a team. When joining, their email address will automatically be recognized, and they'll gain access to your team. Alternatively, you can authorize an email domain for all members of your organization to automatically join. You can add authorized email domains via the More section within the app.
Is there a desktop version of Staff Leave?
Currently, Staff Leave is a mobile only service and is available for all major mobile phones and tablets on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do plan to launch a desktop version in the near future, but we are yet to announce a launch date.
How do I import existing holiday data?
You can import holiday data for your employees using one of our Excel templates. Once you have populated your file, you can upload it directly into the app from the More > Company & App Settings > Import Data section. To learn more about importing data, please read this article.
Can you block out days from being bookable, such as Public Holidays?
We currently support the blocking of UK public holidays and weekends on iOS (iPhone) to stop staff booking leave on those days. Support for Android is coming soon, and support for other countries is also in development. For UK accounts, to activate this feature, simply put a request into our support team, and they'll be glad to help.
How do I update next year's holiday allowance for an employee?
When you update a user's allowance, it will also update the following calendar year allowance.
Currently, the allowance for the next year has to be set at the start of the new holiday calendar year, however support will be coming to the app to edit this independently. For now, if you have a staff member starting halfway through a year, you can either do an import to update allowances for future years, or contact support for assistance.
