Staff Leave sends multiple notifications when users interact with the app. This article highlights the different scenarios when notifications are sent, and what they contain.
Requesting Leave
When a user requests leaves. A number of notifications are sent to both the employee who requested the leave, and any approvers, managers or administrators that are authorised to receive an alert.
There is sometimes a small delay from when a request is made, to when a notification is sent. This is allow for any errors to be corrected. An approver will also receive a notification about 15–20 minutes after the request has been made.
Employee Requesting Leave Receives:

Your request for Annual Leave for 2 days off starting on Monday December 30th, 2024 is currently pending, we'll notify you when it has been approved (or rejected).
Approver Receives:
New Request From Suzy Smith
Suzy has made a request for Annual Leave for 2 days off starting on Monday December 30th, 2024. Please approve or reject this request, and we'll let Suzy know.
Approving Leave
Your Annual Leave Request Has Been Approved!
Your Annual Leave request: Paid leave for 1 day off starting on Mon, 16 September 2024 has been approved.
Rejecting Leave
Sorry, Your Annual Leave Request Has Been Rejected
Your Annual Leave request starting on Sat, 07 September 2024 has been rejected, please try an alternative date.
Cancelling a Request
If the Request is still pending, the Employee Receives:
You've Cancelled a Holiday
This is to confirm that you've cancelled a holiday for Annual Leave for 1 day off starting on Tue, 17 September 2024.
If the request is already confirmed, the Employee Receives:-
Your Holiday Request is Pending Cancellation!
Your holiday request: Annual Leave for 4 days off starting on Tue, 12 November 2024 is pending cancellation. We'll let you know once it's been agreed by your approver
Approver Receives:-
Holiday Cancellation Request From Suzy Smith
Suzy wants to cancel their holiday request for Annual Leave for 4 days off. Please agree to or reject this cancellation request, and we'll let Suzy know.
Updating Allowances
Your Base Holiday Entitlement Has Been Updated
Your holiday entitlement for 2024 has been updated to 14. This excludes any previous days carried over or time off in lieu.
Automatic Rollover of Leave

48 Hours before leave rolls over:-
We'll Process Your Staff's Rollover Allowances For 2024 on the 5th Apr
We'll soon carry over your staff's un-used leave from 2023 to 2024 upto a max of 5 days. To adjust or stop any rollover, please do so via your Company Settings before 5th Apr.
At the point any leave is rolled over:-
We've Processed Your Staff's Holiday Rollover Allowances For 2024
We've carried over your staff's un-used leave from their 2023 allowance into 2024 upto a maximum of 5 days. If you need to adjust 2024 base entitlements - this will need to be done separately.
