Setting up Paypal Express Checkout

Instantcart Uses Paypal Express Checkout as its primary payment module. Paypal Express Checkout is available to

Step 1. Setup a Verified Business Account

If you're new to PayPal, you'ill first need a Paypal account:

  1. Go to PayPal.
  2. Click Sign Up Today.
  3. Set up an account for Business Owners.
  4. Follow the instructions on the PayPal site.

If you already have a Personal or Premier account:

  1. Go to PayPal.
  2. Click the Upgrade your Account link.
  3. NextC click on the the Upgrade Now button.
  4. Choose to upgrade to a Business account and follow instructions to complete the upgrade.
  5. Add a bank account to become a Verified member if you havent done so already. Follow the instructions on the PayPal site. Please note it can take 2-3 business days to verify.

Step 2. Setup your Paypal API Credentials

Browse to Paypal to setup First-party authentication: Register API signature

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.

  1. Click on the Profile Tab, and then My Selling Preferences

  1. Under My Business Setup, find the API Access Option, and click the update link

  1. You'll see an option which looks like below. Choose Option 2 and click the API Signiture link

  1. Once you generate your credentials, you will see the following. Make a note of your credentials - you will need these for the next step.

Step 3. Browse to your Instantcart Control Panel

From your shop control panel, goto Settings, then click on the Payment Modules Tab.

Step 4. Click on the Paypal Merchant Accounts link

Click on the Paypl Merchant Accounts link, this will load a box where you will need to enter your Paypal Express Checkout settings.

You will need:-

  1. A Paypal Business account with API credentials.
  2. Paypal Id, usually in the form of api.mystore.co.uk
  3. Your Paypal Merchant Password
  4. Your Paypal Merchant API Key.

An example of the Paypal APU Credentials will look like this:-

  • API username sdk-three_api1.sdk.com
  • API password QFZCWN5HZM8VBG7Q
  • API signature A‑IzJhZZjhg29XQ2qnhapuwxIDzyAZQ92FRP5dqBzVesOkzbdUONzmOU

Fill out the relavent fields as shown below with your own API credentials. Tick the box “default mode” and make sure “Sandbox mode” is unticked. Thats it you're ready to go!
